It does not have to be any more than a social event. Atheists, in my opinion, that force others around them to adhere by their new found rules are not true atheist at all. A true atheist is not bothered by celebrating Christmas or any other holiday. A true atheist knows their “truth” and is not bothered by others “truth”.
